Are you an undergraduate student currently attending another college or university and looking to attend Lamar University temporarily? Getting enrolled in courses is simple!

Apply as a Transient Student

  1. Apply for admission through the Apply Texas system and select the Transient Application.
    • Official academic transcripts of previous college work are not required for admission, however, they may be required to determine TSI status and academic prerequisite fulfillment.
  2. TSI Assessment
    Students attending Texas public institutions of higher education must be in compliance with the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Unless exempt, you must take the TSI Assessment to determine your readiness for college-level work before being advised and registering for classes.

    Exemptions from TSI testing include qualifying SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores.

Transient students who wish to continue their studies at Lamar University beyond the term they take courses must apply for regular admission and must meet all entrance requirements for transfer students.
